Star of The Month Dec / Jan Winners

AFE Society’s December and January Stars of the Month…

The Stars of The Month is back… and we can’t wait to announce the FOUR students who stood out of an extremely competitive field of nominations!

Our first congratulations goes to, Ahmed Ahmed (Level 5 Economics).  Hannah Holmes tells us why Ahmed deserved this recognition, ‘...it is great to see that Ahmed has flourished over the past few months and his confidence in tackling problems and seeking support has grown. If Ahmed continues to show the same commitment that he is now doing, he has a bright future ahead and it is well deserved.’

We are also excited to announce that Sian Parsons was chosen as a Star of The Month (Level 6 Accounting & Finance). We spoke to Adrienne Somerfield about why Sian was nominated. ‘Sian is a model student. She works hard on all her courses to make sure she understands each topic… attends all lectures, super-tutorials and tutorials and completes all tutorial work/assignments ahead of time. We wish her every success and happiness that she certainly richly deserves.’

Jordan Levy was also selected as a Star of The Month (BONY Part Time Degree) and a huge congratulations given. Jordan was nominated by Paul Raby… and here’s why: ‘Jordan is a part time student on The Bank of New York Mellon Programme. After working all day and studying until late in the evening Jordan still had the morality to help a stranger in need… Jordan has demonstrated his true sense of morality and his ability to prioritise the well-being of a stranger over that of his own. MMU should be proud to have this young man as a student and an ambassador for the University.’

Finally, we would like to congratulate Liberty Glennen (TBC). Clare Hart tells us why Liberty deserved to be a Star of The Month. ‘...Libby’s name has been mentioned on a few occasions now for helping somebody with an issue, or they have told me how good a friend she has been to them this year… We always want our students to to help each other out and form relationships that hopefully will last for a lifetime. Libby works hard at University, her attendance is good and she does all we would ask of any student, but she goes the extra mile to be friendly and supportive to her fellow students and I am not sure she realises how important this is.’

Becoming a Star of The Month is a huge achievement, serving as a credit of your commitment, hard work and dedication to succeed. All four students have been invited to a dinner at the end of the year with all the stars, Professor Chris Pyke and the Faculty Dean - a great opportunity to network and once again, stand out of the crowd!

CONGRATULATIONS AHMED, SIAN, JORDAN & LIBBY!!!!!
