Level 5 - Placement Wednesday - Aldi This Weds, 28th Sept

The first in our series of Placement Wednesday sessions for level 5 students is next Wednesday 28th September at 1pm in G27, followed by an Application Form Workshop at 2pm.

We will be welcoming Aldi who will be presenting their award winning placement scheme (Aldi have a selection of accolades including being in the Rate My Placement ‘Top 100 Undergraduate Employers 2015-16’ and The Times ‘Top 100 Graduate Employers’).  As well as Area Managers, there will also be a current placement student in attendance, along with Daniel Gallagher - a final year Manchester Met Business Management student who has just completed his placement year with Aldi.

I have put together a promotional slide for this event (please see attached), and would be grateful if you could use this to promote the session at the start/end of your level 5 lectures on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Over the forthcoming weeks we will send out a promotional slide for each forthcoming ‘Placement Wednesday’ session every Friday.  The full schedule of sessions is detailed on the attached flyer.

Kind regards,

Lynn

The Writing Project - Term 1 2016-17

Aimed mainly at Home students, the very popular Writing Project will be open for registration on Thursday. The project allows students to improve their writing, grades and enhances their chances of employability - so please encourage students to sign up.
This course is for any Manchester Met-enrolled student who would like to improve the way they write at university level, although its focus is not just on academic writing.

The course will focus mainly on style, punctuation, grammatical accuracy, organisation and how to paraphrase and summarise effectively. The premise is that all students can improve their English, whether you are undergraduates, postgraduates or PhD students.
The Writing Project is now Open for Registration - Why should you join?
You can improve your assessment grades by making sure you are getting your points across clearly. You can impress future employers - good writing skills are highly valued in the workplace - a well-written job application will get you a long way.

Check the website for full details on hoe to sign up;
