Manchester Met Business Student Conference - 18th April 2018

Hi,
the Student Experience Support Tutors in your department would like to introduce the Business Student Conference, an opportunity for all students in the Business School, taking place on 18th April 2018.

We would like you to encourage your students to take part in this opportunity which you can find more details about on the attached PDF and slides which can be used in class or via Moodle. If you have any questions about the opportunity these can be directed to the organisers via: stu.conf@mmu.ac.uk

We really appreciate anything you can do to help encourage participants from your areas and if you would like to be more involved with the conference we will need assistance in the following areas:

·        Workshops to develop ideas/presentation skills

·        Shortlisting of proposals

·        Mentoring of individuals to get their presentations ready

·        On the day support, signposting etc.

We will be getting in touch next week with physical posters and flyers to use for promotion and will follow up with a few reminders from now until April.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Kind regards,
Rowanne

Financial Conduct Authority `Spring Week` Opportunity - Visible Women Campaign

Opportunities are for 1st year, Undergraduate, female students.  Deadline: 12pm Monday 26th February.

Dear Manchester Metropolitan University Careers and Employability Service,

Elevation Networks are pleased to be working with the Financial Conduct Authority to deliver their Spring Week as a part of our Visible Women Campaign.

We are emailing you to inform you of an opportunity that is open to your first-year undergraduate females and we would really appreciate you sharing it!

Some of you may not have secured work experience this spring for a variety of reasons. Including: not understanding how truly valuable Spring Week is to not only gain work experience but to understand the skills they will need to develop before entering the workplace and of course find out about a careers - including the FCA summer and graduate programmes and much more.

If students are not local to London they need not worry, as those travelling from outside of London will have the cost of their accommodation covered for duration of the week as well as their travel to and from London. What's even better is that if students impress during their week at the FCA they have the potential to receive a golden ticket - fast tracking them to the assessment centre stage of the internship process in their second year of university!

There are only 25 places for the whole week, six of which have been taken. Please do send me an email if you would like to find out more.
And please apply here:  https://form.jotformeu.com/80032505562346

Kind regards,
Shanade
