Who is it for: anyone with a business idea – you must complete an application form
 
Description:
Are you thinking of starting your own business? Do you have an idea that you want to turn into a reality? Do you want to be your own boss?
 
If so, then the Business Start Up Boot Camp is for you! It will cover the initial building blocks of setting up a successful business and will provide support, advice, resources, guidance and mentoring to help you create a commercially viable venture. It will be delivered by external facilitators who are all experts in their field.
 
To attend this programme you must have a business idea or social enterprise idea that you want to develop or grow and be available for both days of this intensive 2 day programme.

Who is it for: This event is open to Postgraduate (taught and research) students as well as Undergraduates considering further education and any other MMU student or graduate looking to commercialise their research or start a business.
 
Description:
“Whether you choose to pursue self-employment or employment, expanding your skill-set and attributes to demonstrate creativity, innovation, resilience, collaboration as well as autonomy is essential for lifelong career success”.
 
For the fifth time Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Manchester and the University of Salford have come together to jointly host an innovative and exciting one day event focusing on what it means to be entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial.
 
The event is a day of workshops, inspirational speakers, networking, drop in advice sessions, business pitch competitions and Q&A panel discussions.
 
Further information will be sent about the competition in a separate confirmation email along with a short application form.  The email will also include further information about the Drop In Sessions which can be booked in advance or on the day.  20 minute discussion sessions are available in the following areas: Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP’s), Finance & Funding, Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa and Intellectual Property & Legal.
 
The key themes of the conference are Inspiration, Collaboration and Opportunity.  The objectives of the conference are to enable the participants to:
 
-Consider the importance of being enterprising and entrepreneurial
-Be inspired by alumni entrepreneurs
-Understand how intrapreneurship can enhance their research / studies
-Network and collanborate with peers, entrepreneurs and keybote speakers
-Become more confident individuals
-Have the opportunity to explore ideas, opportunities and build contacts
