Good News ~ Alumni Loyalty Discount!

Good News ~ Alumni Loyalty Discount!

Hello Everyone,

Great news!

MMU have decided to Reward our graduates by offering an Alumni Loyalty Discount!  This means that we could be offering you a 20% discount on the cost of your postgraduate taught study, as once you have graduated, you will be MMU alumni*

  • Manchester Metropolitan University values its alumni and is pleased to offer an exclusive Alumni Loyalty Discount to assist with the cost of postgraduate taught study.
  • Studying for a taught postgraduate degree can increase your skills and knowledge in your chosen profession making you more employable and a more attractive candidate to employers. In today’s climate, it is increasingly important for your CV to stand out and a taught postgraduate qualification can be a way of achieving this.
  • We want all our graduates to have the best possible chance of maximising their career success. Our Alumni Loyalty Discount reduces your tuition fees and encourages our undergraduates into further study.
  • Eligible alumni receive a 20% discount on their taught postgraduate tuition fees when they enrol as a new student on one of our eligible full-time or part-time postgraduate taught courses starting in September 2015.*
Who is eligible?
For the purpose of the Alumni Loyalty Discount the term alumni is used to define former students who have successfully completed an MMU undergraduate degree (excluding HND or Foundation degree), PGCE or GDL at Manchester Metropolitan University and who meet the requirements for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at MMU.

Please refer to the ‘Terms and Conditions’ below for more information.
How do we know if a course is eligible?
You can check if a course is eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount for September 2015 entry via www.mmu.ac.uk/loyaltyaward. Please note that only Year 1 is eligible. (A drop-down list of eligible courses is available to view at the above link).
Note: Unfortunately the list of courses does not include ACCA full time / ACCA part time or CIMA part time courses.

How do alumni access the Alumni Loyalty Discount?
There are two different ways to obtain the discount which depend on the year someone graduated from MMU:
  1. 1.        Alumni who graduated in 2009 to present
If you graduated in 2009 or after (and you and your chosen course meet the eligibility criteria), the discount will be applied automatically and you will receive a confirmation email prior to the start of term. Class of 2015 alumni will fall into this category as long as they actually graduate before September 2015 entry.
  1. 2.        Alumni who graduated before 2009
If you graduated before 2009 (and you and your chosen course meet the eligibility criteria), please email loyaltyaward@mmu.ac.uk for advice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Terms and Conditions (including eligibility and exclusions)
  • Eligible alumni receive a 20% discount on their taught postgraduate tuition fees when they enrol as a new student, on Year 1, (paying fees as per the fees list) on one of our eligible full-time or part-time postgraduate taught courses starting in September 2015.
  • Applies to MMU graduates with an undergraduate degree (excludes HND and Foundation degree), PGCE or GDL.
  • MMU externally enrolled students will be eligible if they graduated with an MMU undergraduate degree
  • Discounts will be awarded to self-funding and external sponsors only (excluding Government/NHS agencies grants and bursaries)
  • The Alumni Loyalty Discount award is not applicable to PGCE, MArch, integrated undergraduate Master's degrees including MChem and MEng, and a small number of other specific courses so please check the list of eligible courses carefully
  • Discounts will be cancelled if a student leaves the course
  • MMU alumni will only be eligible for one MMU award, discount, scholarship or initial discounted tuition fee and will be awarded the greater amount
  • Returning postgraduate taught students who received the Loyalty Award in the 2014/15 academic year will remain on the old scheme (i.e. overseas students and Home/EU Law students)
  • All discounts are reviewed on an annual basis
Further information:
If you have further questions about the Alumni Loyalty Discount, please email:
