PUMA UK – Business Analyst based in MANCHESTER

The Role
Working alongside the Sales Operations Support team, the purpose of this role is to analyse internal and external data to provide regular reports to Puma's European operation. You will work proactively with the Sales Managers and Support team to obtain, analyse and upload relevant data on to various platforms. The data will relate to Strategic accounts, and will support the business in making key budget allocation decisions.

You will be required to maintain a standard of presentation excellence for the sales information whilst liaising with colleagues across the business both in the UK and internationally. As well as sales related data, you will assist the finance department in the compilation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting. Additionally, you will work with inventory teams to provide seasonal forecasting data in line with the inventory purchasing cycle.

Ultimately you will gain a broad understanding of the data required to run a successful fast moving retail operation. You will see how data facilitates sales growth and you will be encouraged to contribute to the continuous improvement of sales operation by offering solutions in streamlining processes and reporting infrastructure.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants will be in the second year of a business, finance or economics related subject. This role will form a sandwich placement for the year 2018/19. Applicants must be able to demonstrate highly proficient Excel Skills coupled with the ability to manipulate and present data from numerous sources. This will require outstanding analytical and numerical skills as well as well developed planning and organising skills. Problem solving skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are also important.

Applicants will be quick, bright, talented and adaptable with the ability and willingness to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You will be confident to work with others in a lively and demanding sales environment with an outgoing open personality and a strong desire to learn and develop. Team working skills, self motivation and initiative are all essential to this role.

Finally you will be commercially aware with an active interest in both Sports and Fashion.

We are a friendly team who are passionate about delivering high quality, fun multi sports activities as an extension to the school day. We deliver both specific sport breakfast clubs and a wide range of after school sports activities across KS1 & 2.
Our focus within each sport discipline remains the same whether it be a high energy football session or a focused dance session; that is to nurture each young person and offer development around both sport and social skills to support ever growing development
. Currently working in 9 schools, our professional coaches provide high quality coaching sessions across a variety of different sports in schools.
 
We have recently taken on 1 MMU student and are now looking to take on an additional 1 or 2 more students. The successful students will be responsible for assisting the Managing Director manage B.A. Sports Academy’s current staff, ensuring excellent service is delivered to our clients. You will also helping with general daily duties which will include social media, marketing, attending meetings, liaising with our clients, administrative duties, marketing, social media, the recruitment of new coaching and identification of business development opportunities.
 
As B.A. Sports Academy continues to expand, this role will provide an opportunity to develop and progress within the business. You will work closely with the managing director to develop the company’s expansion strategy further.
 
This role will benefit the successful student immensely. You will learn a lot about the logistics of a company in this role and have a better understanding on how to maintain a profitable business. You will be a voice of the company, and our young Managing Director is willing to listen to any ideas you put forward.  There is also the potential to gain further paid employment with us and a bonus.
 
We are based between Innospace which is part of MMU and WeWork at No.1 Spinningfields which is a collaborative work space for small businesses. It’s a great place with a coffee bar, table tennis tables and a beer pump!
