Make the most
of your summer break, boost your CV, and gain work experience by doing an
internship. Attend this session to explore where to find internships and when
to apply, the support available for applications and interviews, and how to
make the most of your internship.
Wednesday 7th
Presenting
is a key skill, you may be asked to present as part of your course or at an
interview or assessment centre - this can be daunting for everyone! Get top
tips for how to prepare for and structure a professional presentation, deal
with any nerves, and manage and impress your audience.

Ever
wondered what the difference is between okay and winning CVs? This workshop
explores different CV formats and covering letters, and the key qualities
employers look for that will make you stand out from the crowd and bag an
interview.

Graduate
Recruitment Fairs are an opportunity to meet employers offering a range of
roles ‘face-to-face’. Before attending you need to do your homework to get the
most out of them and impress employers. Find out when and where the fairs take
place, how to prepare and how to sell your skills.

Networking: building your personal brand 3.15 Business School
We
all network everyday with friends and colleagues, at events and via social
media. Networking can be key to identifying jobs that are not advertised so it
is important to know how and when to network confidently to create
opportunities for yourself and make those essential contacts.

The
majority of JET Programme participants work as Assistant Language Teachers
(ALTs), assisting with English teaching in schools across Japan. As an ALT your
role will be to ASSIST Japanese Teachers of English rather than lead classes on
your own.

out what admissions tutors want from a personal statement and how UCAS
applications work for school direct and university-based PGCE places. Whether
you want to apply for primary or secondary level, this workshop will help you
put together a great teacher training application.
