Monthly Employability Update - May & June 2015

Welcome to your monthly update on all things Employability related at MMU!

Hopefully this email will give you a clear overview of upcoming key employability events and activities going on in the Business School over the next few weeks!

Good news!

We now have lots of dates set for IT Envy briefing and exams in May and June.

This is an opportunity for you to get free online training and qualifications from Microsoft in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook or Access.

If you are interested in this, you must attend a briefing session and then complete work in your own time before booking in for the exam.

For more details, contact our employability skills coordinator (Hayley.Wright@mmu.ac.uk), although as soon as she has the booking details she will be sending out an additional message, so look out for this too!

Save the Dates!

You can also book a 1-2-1 appointment with a Careers Advisor by calling 0161 247 3483.

This is a service available to those who have a clear career path in mind, and those who don’t!

Part time Jobs and Work Experience

You can now join the new MMU Facebook group for local part time and summer jobs!

Hayley Wright (our Employability and Skills coordinator) will be posting up opportunities as and when she finds them through social media and many of these roles have a very short closing date (so keep your eyes on this regularly!)  The group is only open to students from our faculty.

There are also 101 part time jobs and work experience roles being advertised on the MMU Careers Service Jobs Board.

Please encourage students to take a look at www.mmu.ac.uk/findajob and to contact the careers service for info on how to find more part time jobs and work experience.

And finally … don’t forget to follow Hayley Wright (our Employability and Skills coordinator) on Twitter!! As usual, she will be tweeting about all things employability related @hayleywrightMMU
