Welcome to your monthly faculty update on all things employability related at MMU.
I hope this email will give you a clear overview of upcoming
key employability events and activities for Business School and Law
students and will help you to more easily promote these opportunities.
Key Events!
1st - 5th June (next week!)
Whether you are confident about your career goals or graduating
with no idea what to do next, take action to enhance your career prospects and
explore your options.
MMU Careers & Employability are running a week full of
workshops, employer networking events and expert advice sessions, all aimed at
helping you to prepare for life after graduation and boost your career.
3rd June
This jobs fair aims to bring job opportunities
across a variety of different industries to locals in and around Manchester.
The event will include application and CV advice as well as the chance to meet
and greet with numerous different employers with vacancies. This is open to
students at all stages. More information here.

Monday 1st- Friday 5th June
Graduate to Work Week

Monday 1st –Friday 5th June
FREE one week
language course- choose from French,
Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, German, Italian and Japanese! These are ideal for
complete beginners. (running again the following week)
Tuesday 2nd June
Network with employers offering internship schemes in a range of
sectors and roles
This is a fantastic opportunity
to develop leadership skills with the University Officer Training Corp (UOTC)
Wednesday 3rd
June
This jobs fair,
aims to bring job opportunities across a variety of different industries to
locals in and around Manchester.
Thursday 4th
June
A unique event to meet employers offering a range
of graduate job and placement opportunities
We’re offering you the chance to get free online
training and qualifications from Microsoft in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
or Access
(later dates available here)
This session will help you make your home more
comfortable, affordable and energy efficient. It will equip you with practical
transferable sustainability skills and knowledge that can be applied in your
future work place.
Friday 5th June
This is a two day event- you must request an application form to
attend
Monday 8th June
Careers led sessions on Teamwork, Communication and Influencing, Finding a Graduate Job, Writing a Winning CV
Tuesday 9th June
By the end of this interactive session, you will learn:
-Why it’s important to manage projects
-How to plan a project
-Approaches to project implementation and evaluation
By the end of this interactive session, you will learn:
-What makes a good leader
-How to manage a team
-How to get the best out of people
By the end of this 30 minute session, you will know:
When and where the fairs take place
What to expect
The preparation needed to get the most out of them
How to network at the fairs and sell your skills so that employers
take notice of you
Wednesday 10th June
Thursday 11th June
This workshop will give you the tools to really
make the most of your experiences in applications and interviews.
Wednesday 17th June
If you think this option might be for you, the enterprise café is
your chance to find out more about the skills that you might require along with
what is involved and the support available.
Wednesday 24th June
Phew! I'm sure I'll have missed
something, but hopefully there is something for everyone here!
