Bethany Brooke, now a final year student of BSc (Hons) Economics, received the renowned Ede & Ravenscroft Prize and scooped up £1000 for exceptional performance during her second year of study at MMU.

The Ede & Ravenscroft Academic Prize for Excellence celebrates outstanding academic achievement, and offers assistance to a second year student to help them excel in their field based upon this criterion:

-Academic achievement of the student on the course for which s/he is registered. This may relate to overall excellence, or to outstanding performance in a particular area of the course;

-Personal or professional achievement while registered on the course, which would include coping successfully with adverse personal circumstances, and significant personal recognition;

-Broader contributions the university and/or the community whilst registered for the course.

Beth tells us, “It is lovely to be recognised, and just to top it all off, I won a prize of £1000 and am to attend an awards dinner in the autumn term; a fantastic opportunity to network and make connections!”
Dr. Hannah-Louise Holmes; Economics Lecturer nominated Beth for the astounding award which she is hugely grateful for.

Hannah said: through her hard work and dedication to organise and promote both social and employability events for AFE students, Beth has enriched the University experience, CVs and employment prospects of many students across the AFE department and wider Faulty.
