William Jackson Food - Graduate Food Science Scheme

Graduate Food Science Scheme

At the William Jackson Food Group, great food and great people are at the heart of what we do. We have five food brands, Aunt Bessie’s, Abel & Cole, Jacksons, Myfresh and The Food Doctor. We work with some really talented people and are currently looking for 2 very special people to join our Graduate Technical Scheme.

Our business has been around for 166 years. It’s a family business and we’re proud of our heritage and values. We look after our people well. We respect them, reward commitment and loyalty, encourage talent, recognise achievements and ultimately appreciate their role in our success. We remain inspired by our founder, but we’re not hanging around in the past, we’re going places!

We’ve been developing graduates for many years; some colleagues who still have great careers with us today joined us 30 years ago. We made a commitment to recruit graduates as we understand the importance of bringing young minds into our businesses and tackling the skills shortage which is affecting the food industry.

We’re offering two inspiring graduates the chance to gain hands-on experience in the food industry with our two year programme during which you will be studying for your professional accountancy qualifications.  You will have two, 12 month placements; you will be developing your technical knowledge and skills, gaining invaluable experience in the industry to be hands on growing your food safety, food law, HACCP and BRC knowledge, crucially your role will be very real and you will have the chance to make a difference.

Our businesses are based nationwide so you need to be mobile.

In return you will get from us:

·         regular personal development meetings

·         full financial support to gain professional qualifications, as well as on the job training and off site training opportunities

·         exposure to our senior leadership teams

We would love you to apply even if your degree is not a food science or food technology degree. You will however be a recent university graduate, or due to graduate in 2017.  The closing date for application’s is the 2nd January 2017, and we are going to start interviewing in February, ready for you to start with in September.
