Conclusion

If you feel there are particular sessions your students would
benefit from, please highlight this to them.
Later in the term, we’ll be running some more One-Off Sessions
as well as some 3-week and 5-week courses. Next week, I’ll be announcing the
following courses:
·
Writing the Dissertation
·
Advanced Grammatical Features
·
The Critical Writing Process
·
Confidence in Academic Speaking
We also have Face-to-Face and
Online Writing Consultations available
to book as well as a Presentation Clinic.
Writing Consultations allow students
to submit up to 1,000 words of their writing to one of our tutors. They will
receive feedback and a tutorial to discuss their work. The Online Consultations
are fully interactive and allow the student to see and speak to their
tutor. All they need is a computer that is connected to the internet and a
quiet space. The Presentation Clinic is an opportunity for students to give a short
10-minute presentation in front of a small group and receive some feedback. If
you feel some of your students would benefit from these services, please direct
them to the Coaching for Academic English Moodle
page to book a slot.
If you have any home students that would benefit from these services, please
email their information languagecentre@mmu.ac.uk
and we will contact them when services become available.
I’ve also created a Twitter
account for Coaching for Academic English.
Please follow us @MMUAcademicEng as we will post updates of our services as they
become available.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you for your support and assistance,
Louise
